Tonight I had sort of an awakening. I went over to my friends house to say hi because I knew they were having a party. Well the majority of everyone there was so trashed. Some won’t even remember I stopped by to say hello. I use to be all for the drinking with friends on occasion but tonight I am just ashamed I was ever a part of it. I don’t have to get messed up and damage my body to have fun. If this is how the majority of my generation has to have fun, I feel sorry for them and I am also ashamed. So today marks a fresh start for me. I’ve never been a part of anything too crazy but it just made me realize that even at 19 years old, I am done with that kind of hanging out. I have goals in life. I have plans, and I would like to remember each day. Does this mean I have officially become an adult? Maybe. I’m still a kid at heart for sure and maybe that’s why I find these sort of festivities absolutely repulsive. No matter the reason for my awakening, I am very glad/thankful it happened. So to all the people who are celebrating 4/20. I feel sorry for you. I hope one day you realize you don’t have to get trashed to have fun and you defintiely don’t have to do those things to fit in with a group. Be who you want to be.
